The 2022 team has a lot of positive momentum going in to the season coming off last season that included them making a deep run in the postseason after hosting a Regional and Super Regional. The entire 2021 starting lineup is returning for the 2022 season and a contract extension was signed in the off season with Mizzou Head Coach Larissa Anderson to keep her there through the 2026 season.

The Tigers will play 25 of their 55 games season at Mizzou Softball Stadium that was recently named the 2021 Netting Professionals/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Field of the Year. Of the Tigers’ 55 games, 29 will be against programs that played in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, including 13 games against teams that reached a Super Regional or better.

Mizzou opens up the 2022 season at the Northern Lights Invitational from Feb. 11-13 in Leesburg, Florida.

Other highlights of the season includes a trip to the west coast for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Feb. 25-27). The Tigers will face Oregon, Texas Tech, San Diego State, Washington, and UCLA.

Mizzou will open their home schedule with the Mizzou Tournament (Mar. 4-6). The Tigers will play five games against St. Thomas and Bradley for Mizzou Softball Stadium’s opening weekend. The following weekend, SEC play will begin in Columbia with Tennessee coming to town for a three-game series (Mar. 11-13). The Tigers will host the Mizzou Tournament (Mar. 18-20) the following weekend with Ball State, Stanford and Northwestern coming to Mid-Missouri.
