SEC Softball Players of the Week-1
SEC Player of the Week – Texas A&M’s Haley Lee, a senior utility player from Kingwood, Texas, batted .818 at the Aggie Classic with nine hits, eight RBI seven walks, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Lee also recorded a 1.000 fielding percentage with 30 putouts and two assists in both at both catcher and first base.
SEC Co-Pitchers of the Week – Auburn’s Shelby Lowe, a sophomore left-hander from Carrollton, Ala., was named to the Tiger Invitational All-Tournament Team after recording three of Auburn’s five wins during the tournament. Lowe opened the season with her first collegiate no-hitter and 28th in program history with the 14-0 win over St. John’s. She struck out 23 batters in 13 innings pitched over the opening weekend and held her opponents to a .109 batting percentage.
Tennessee’s Ashley Rogers, a senior right-hander from Athens, Tenn., recorded two wins and a save for the Lady Vols at the Felsberg Invitational. Rogers started the 2022 season with a complete-game, one-hit shutout over UNC Greensboro. She limited her opponents to a .093 hitting percentage and registered 20 strikeouts in 13 innings pitched.
SEC Freshmen of the Week – Florida’s Lexie Delbrey, a right-handed pitcher from Bainbridge, Ga., threw a complete-game, one hit shutout in her first collegiate start against No. 16/13 Michigan at the USF-Rawlings Invitational. She also earned a save in her first collegiate appearance as she struck out two of the three batters she faced in the Gators’ 3-0 win over Illinois State to open the season.
