Pitt head Coach Jodi Hermanek announced the signing of transfer pitcher Adriana Romano. The Siena transfer totaled 139 K’s and 11 wins last season.
Romano, who enters as a sophomore with three years of athletic eligibility left, spent her freshman season at Siena, where she was the ace of the staff for a team that won 30 plus games in 2022.
A native of Barnegat, N.J., Romano went 11-6 with a 2.45 ERA last season, recording 139 strikeouts with an opposing batting average of .209 in 114.1 innings pitched. She had three shutouts and a save with a 1.25 WHIP.
“It’s exciting to announce the addition of Adriana Romano to our Panther roster,” Hermanek said. “Adriana comes off a freshman season putting out strong numbers that proves she knows how to win. I value her field presence and demeanor in the circle, and the attack she puts into her pitches to go after batters. That type of pitching character goes a long way in our Pitt bullpen and in the ACC.”
